South America

I know there is still 3 fantastic destinations before getting to this continent but I'm getting more and more excited about South America.

The fact is I met 4 South American (Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru) and each of them has been so friendly and awesome that it gives me support to practise/improve my Spanish to be more or less ready when I am there. They all told me many things about their countries (which I admit I know really bad) and I really feel like extending my stay in South America in order either to visit more than what I have in mind so far (Chile, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia) or to take more time to visit these 4 countries.

Thank you to each of you 4 to present me your continent and countries and I hope to see you either there or somewhere else!!!

Peru

My visit of peru is scheduled to be split in two.
The first part I visit mostly the coast of the country and the north with the exception of Arequipa and Lima.
In the north Trujillo and Chiclayo are on the coast while Cajarmarca and Chachapoyas (with great ruins) are inland.

Second visit to Peru with a trekking spree near Huaraz (trek of the Huayhash), el Choquequirao and the Ausangate.
The famous Machu Picchu and Cusco and its region (soon).
My visit to the family of Susan who owns the restaurant Muña in the sacred valley near Cusco, and the oasis of Huacachina.

More on the region of Cusco with Moray, the two sides of Cusco (turistic and genuine), Maras where I teach.

Finally one album for the moment of Bolivia where I spent less than two days but they were worth it.

My time in Chile

It starts with Santiago, then I headed South to the region of the lakes with stops in Pucón, Valdivia and Puerto Varas before contuing to Chiloe where I have spent Christmas.

But the real adventure in Chile begun when I started the carretera austral and got into Patagonia. It took me approximately 2.5 weeks to get from Chaiten to Villa O Higgins, 1,000 kms south.

After Chaiten, the ghost town after a volcano carpeted it with ashes, I went to Coyhaique, Cochrane and Tortel to finally get to Villa O Higgins.

it was then time to do a small shortcut to Argentina after crossing the border on foot and see the Fitz Roy and the Perito Moreno.

My last stop in Patagonia was the popular Torres del Paine for a demanding 6 days trek.

After a stop in Santiago to get some energy and see some friends with whom I went to Valparaiso, I started to go north with two stops in La Serena and San Pedro de Atacama before crossing into Peru

New Zealand

I start with the Southern Island:

My favourite place in the Southern Island: Wanaka wonderful its lake and Mt Aspiring not far.

The high peaks of the Southern Island in Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook.
Arthur's Pass where I did two really good treks
Kaikora (Seals) and Christchurch
Akaroa, a French settlement now a quiet tourist destination.
Abel Tasman NP, near Nelson where I did a multi-day trek
Franz Joseph glacier, my first glacier ever
Te Anau: The doubtful sound (it is a fjord) and views from the hill on the lake

And here are the three albums of the Northern Island. Not as many pictures because the weather was not as nice and I did fewer places.
First the North of Auckland with the Bay of Island and the Cape Rienga (Top North of NZ).
Then Taupo and the Tongariro Crossing (as much as I could see).
And to finish the Coromandel Peninsula where the fun was finally back
